What is a Pressure Sensor?
A pressure sensor is a device designed for pressure measurement of gases. Pressure sensors can vary drastically in technology, design, performance, application suitability and cost.
Based on different pressure sensing technology, there are piezoresistive pressure sensors, piezoelectric pressure sensors, and capacitive pressure sensors, etc. Micro Sensor supplies piezoresistive pressure sensors mainly.

As the picture shows above, Micro Sensor offers a series of pressure sensors. There will be a series of articles recently to give a detailed introduction to these pressure sensors while in this article, we focus on below piezoresistive pressure sensor for general pressure measurement application.
1. MPM280 Pressure Sensor (Φ 19×15mm, 0-50℃ temp. compensated)
MPM280 pressure sensor is piezoresistive, silicon oil filled with stainless steel construction. It is widely used for measuring pressure which is compatible with stainless steel and Viton.
·Pressure Range: 0kPa~20kPa…100MPa
·Nonlinearity: ±0.15%FS (Typ.), ±0.25%FS (Max.)
·Repeatability: ±0.05%FS (Typ.), ±0.075%FS (Max.)
·Hysteresis: ±0.05%FS (Typ.), ±0.075%FS (Max.)

2. MPM281 Pressure Sensor (lowest 7kPa, -10~80 ℃ temp. compensated )
Different from MPM280, MPM281 pressure sensor uses high stable silicon die which ensures high level stability and wider -10~80 ℃ compensated temp. Moreover, it is able to measure low range pressure.
·Pressure range 0kPa~7kPa…100MPa
·Nonlinearity: ±0.15%FS (Typ.), ±0.25%FS (Max.)
·Repeatability: ±0.05%FS (Typ.), ±0.075%FS (Max.)
·Hysteresis: ±0.05%FS (Typ.), ±0.075%FS (Max.)

3. MPM283 Pressure Sensor (I-Φ 16.8×12mm, II-Φ 12.6×10.5mm, -10~80 ℃ temp. compensated)
Both MPM280 and MPM281 pressure sensor are 19mm diameter while MPM283 pressure sensor has smaller dimension, 12.6mm diameter and 16.8mm available, proper for those applications which have a requirement for the compact outline.
·Pressure Range: 0kPa~20kPa…100MPa
·Nonlinearity: ±0.15%FS (Typ.), ±0.25%FS (Max.)

4. MDM290 Differential Pressure Sensor (Differential pressure measurement)
Micro Sensor has an MDM290 pressure sensor for differential pressure measurement. Both outer resistors temperature compensated type and laser trimming thick-film circuit board type is optional.

·Nonlinearity: ±0.15%FS (Typ.), ±0.25%FS (Max.)
·Repeatability: ±0.05%FS (Typ.), ±0.075%FS (Max.)
